![]() ![]() I was very excited to see Athena’s backstory seeing a unique view of her story was really fun, giving her character and building that relationship with other characters in the book such as Lore. I loved how Lore’s own house was destroyed and the reasons behind that and how the destruction of her family became more and more explained throughtout the book pulling her back into the world of the Hunt. It was really interesting to read the ‘lore’ behind the hunt and why it still exsists today. I loved the mechanics of the hunt with the different houses inspired by Heros and creatures from Greek Mythology, I loved how if you killed a god you became basically became that god but you would then be hunted in the next hunt. The mechanics of the book too how it isn’t exactly a retelling but more like a Greek mythology focused modern world was very interesting. I absolutely loved the fact that this book right off the bat gave me Percy Jackson meets the Hunger Games vibes! Both series I absolutely loved when I read them as a teen, so I absolutely enjoyed reading this book. ![]() ![]() However, with my Greek Mythology themed month I finally managed to get round to reading this book. So I’ve had this book on my TBR for a VERY long while and I just like most of my books, just never got round to reading it.
